#CaptureLove

The “Cool People” Wellness Team From Steinmetz College Prep help U Can Turn It Around Reignite their #CaptureLove Initiative

U Can Turn It Around founder Antwan McHenry recently returned to Chicago Public Schools after taking a brief break and working in the healthcare field for 2.5 years. He stated, “Being back in the educational system reminded me that we need to continue the work of sharing positive images and experiences.” The youth are constantly bombarded with negativity and many times take part in recycling negative imagery. Many individuals are quick to take photos and videos of negative and violent acts to share online in hopes of going viral. Pictured here are his colleagues who decided to help out in encouraging positive digital citizenship. If you want to become part of the movement, snap a photo of something positive and hashtag it #Capturelove and share your image! Be sure to tag @ucanturnitaround so that we can feature your image on our social media.

#CaptureLove Welcomes its 1st Ambassador “ALieN”

U Can Turn It Around’s #CaptureLove movement was birthed in 2015 and is on the brink of celebrating its 5th birthday. It has been 5 years of people sharing their special moments with the world to counteract the negativity that we are bombarded with on a daily basis. In celebration of 5 years we are implementing our ambassador program! We are on a quest to flood the Chicagoland area with LOVE! Chicago has 2.7 million citizens living in  its 77 communities. We are excited to welcome our 1st Capture Love Ambassador Chicago artist  “ALieN” to the U Can Turn It Around Family. We are very excited about this partnership and look forward to the expansion of positivity in our GREAT city. Check out ALieN’s Bio and stay tuned for the awesome work that we will be doing together!

ALieN, an award winning writer & spoken word artist, is a native of the South Side of Chicago. She utilizes her versatile soulish craft with the intent to inspire, motivate, uplift, & enlighten. Yet even in the midst of all of ALieN’s accomplishments thus far & those to come; she remains humble, gracious, eager to serve in every capacity of her gift & talents, & grateful to touch the souls & lives of so many. Her tag phrase & rightfully so, is “Be Extraterrestrial in Your Domain”.

#Capturelove is a movement that was created to bring positivity into a world that is filled with negativity.  The idea came to us while sitting in a class that dealt with loving one another. Most people love to take photos and with the accessibility of cameras through cellphones just about everyone has one.  It’s very simple to participate, take a photo with someone you love or something that demonstrates love then upload the photo to social media and hashtag it #Capturelove.
